Celebrating a Decade of Growth and Gratitude at ISAL

Ten years ago, the Boston Globe featured our founder, Julia, and her inspiring journey in establishing the International School of Advanced Learning (ISAL). The article, "School founder helps immigrants master language, culture", shone a spotlight on her vision to empower immigrants through language and cultural education in Boston. As we reflect on this milestone, we are filled with gratitude for the community that has made this journey so meaningful.

Over the past decade, ISAL has grown, but our core mission has remained unchanged: to create a nurturing environment where individuals can thrive, improve their English proficiency, and integrate seamlessly into the vibrant fabric of Boston’s community. From our students who bring determination and hope to every class to our staff and volunteers who are dedicated to fostering success, ISAL has become more than just a school—it’s a home for dreams and achievements.

We are incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together:

  • Hundreds of students mastering the English language.

  • Countless cultural bridges built between our students and the Boston community.

  • Lifelong connections formed within our diverse classrooms.

We are also profoundly thankful to the Boston Globe for recognizing our mission 10 years ago and helping amplify our voice. Their support and the subsequent attention it brought have been instrumental in shaping ISAL’s trajectory.

As we look forward to the next 10 years, we remain committed to our vision: to empower, educate, and inspire. To all who have been part of our journey—our students, staff, supporters, and partners—thank you. Together, we’ve built something truly special, and the best is yet to come.

Here’s to another decade of growth, learning, and community.

With gratitude,

The ISAL Team
